Over 370 Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) members recently registered to hear Mahoneys’ Partner [Antony Harrison]; Angela Jeffrey and Scott Montefiore (William Buck); and Chris Mariani (Medical & General Risk Solutions) discuss starting a group practice with colleagues.
The focus of the event – organised by the Professional Medical Practice (PMP) and the RACP – was on providing the accounting, legal and risk management strategies medical professionals need to consider when starting, and running, a practice with colleagues.
Specifically, Antony covered some of the legal issues that need to be addressed:
- what agreements are needed to form and run a successful group practice;
- what to look out for when taking on a commercial lease; and
- the due diligence required when buying into an existing practice.
A copy of the webinar titled “Starting a Group Practice with Colleagues”, dated 5 September 2024, can be found on the RACP’s past event presentation page.
A big thank you to the PMP, RACP, Tracey Handley, Suzanne Stack, Hannah Parker (RACP) and Kat Boettcher (PMP) for arranging this important event.
