Over 1000 Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) members recently registered to hear Mahoneys’ Partner Antony Harrison, Angela Jeffrey and Scott Montefiore (William Buck); Lena Wallish (Avant Practice Solutions), James Warwick (Medical and General Risk Solutions) and Patrick Coleman (FRACP and private practice owner) discuss strategies for optimising a physician’s financial affairs when transitioning into private practice.
The webinar, organised by the RACP, is part of an ongoing Financial Wellbeing Series focused on providing investment, accounting, legal, and banking strategies specifically designed to meet the needs of medical professionals.
Specifically, Antony addressed a range of important legal issues that need to be addressed – including:
- agreements a physician may be asked to sign and the risks they pose;
- how asset protection strategies can be used to protect personal assets from business risks; and
- the interplay between asset protection and estate planning (ie Wills).
