Admitted in 2021, Liam is a lawyer in our body corporate team.

Liam started his legal career on the Gold Coast as a body corporate lawyer advising on body corporate disputes, preparation of new community management statements, management rights transactions and common property leasing advice.

Liam has also gained experience in planning and environment law, construction and infrastructure acting mostly for private sector clients.

Liam has particular interest in front-end advisory work for bodies corporate and lot owners, with a focus on providing tailored commercial advice to his clients.

Recent experience

Liam’s recent experience includes:

  • advising a body corporate on:
    • its rights to extinguish an obsolete easement which a neighbouring scheme was using to access a public park without any lawful right; and
    • the validity of a number of contentious general meeting motions and the process for the chairperson to rule the motions out of order;
  • advising a building management group of its rights to tow various vehicles parked on its shared areas;
  • acting on behalf of a lot owner in the Commissioner’s Office against a body corporate’s purported attempt to enter into a lease or license without proper authority; and
  • advising and preparing a new caretaking agreement for a scheme in which the common property was being self-managed by the committee.
