John Mahoney’s longstanding commitment to the accommodation industry was recognised at ARAMA’s night of nights – where he received a Lifetime of Service Award.
On a night celebrating the accommodation industry’s top performers, John was recognised for his dedication and distinguished service to ARAMA, its members and the industry.
One of the architects of the management rights industry, John has been an active member of ARAMA for over 32 years. He has been a Board member since 2015, and was Chair of ARAMA`s Regulatory Advisory Panel for much of that time.
John has represented ARAMA and industry on every significant piece of legislation – including the Queensland Government’s most recent review into the length of management rights agreements – and is responsible for key parts of the management rights legislation in place today.
He regularly presents to industry stakeholders and chairs forums, for the benefit of resident managers, focused on protecting the rights of resident managers and improving the efficiency of management rights transactions.
His service to the management rights industry was previously recognised in 2012, when John was made a Life Member of ARAMA. His commitment to the industry was also recognised in 2019, 2020 and 2021 when being awarded ARAMA Service Provider of the Year.
