Mahoneys recently welcomed Lisa Valentine to the firm. Admitted in 2006, Lisa has practiced exclusively in commercial litigation – most recently leading the dispute resolution practice within the University of Queensland’s in-house legal team. Her work in that role involved:

• developing submissions and witness statements for litigated court or tribunal actions, parliamentary inquiries, actions involving regulators or internal disputes (such as staff misconduct proceedings or student disciplinary matters);
• advising senior executives and other stakeholders on strategy and resolution options for a wide array of disputes; and
• working with external counsel to manage complex and high-value litigation in various Australian courts as well as international jurisdictions such as the New York Supreme Court.

Recruited as part of the firm’s growth strategy, Lisa  joins our commercial litigation team as a Special Counsel.

The growth, which takes our commercial litigation team to 8 lawyers, is part of the firm’s long term strategic plan – which includes expanding our service offering whilst reinforcing our commitment to existing practice areas.

We welcome Lisa to the firm and look forward to seeing what we can achieve together.
