Mahoneys’ Senior Associate Rhys Williamson recently joined other industry experts to discuss what legal, accounting, and operational requirements need to be considered when starting a private practice.
The webinar – organised by The Professional Medical Practice (PMP) and The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) – heard from Rhys, Paul Copeland and Scott Montefiore (William Buck), Loryn Einstein (Medical Billing Experts), Chris Mariani (Medical & General Risk Solutions), George Pappas (G Squared) and Jerry Kennard (Evoke Projects).
Specifically, Rhys covered some of the important legal issues that need to be considered – including:
- agreements needed for forming and running a group practice (including shareholder agreements and service agreements);
- what to look for when buying into a group practice and the hidden risks (including payroll tax liabilities); and
- your rights, and how to protect yourself in any dispute.
A copy of the webinar titled “Starting a Private Practice”, dated 21 October 2023, can be found on RACP’s past event presentation page.
A big thank you to the PMP, RACP, Tracey Handley, Suzanne Stack and Hannah Parker (RACP) and Jordan Gardiner (PMP) for arranging this important event.
