Mahoneys’ Partner Antony Harrison recently joined a panel of industry experts to discuss the legal, accounting, financial planning, wealth creation and insurance considerations for medical practitioners transitioning into retirement.
The webinar – organised by The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) – was well received, with over 130 physicians tuning in to hear from Antony, Angela Jeffrey and Scott Montefiore (William Buck) and Chris Mariani (Medical and General Risk Solutions).
Specifically, Antony covered some of the important legal issues that need to be considered, including:
- preparing a practice for sale;
- maximising the value of the business;
- business succession;
- finding a suitable buyer;
- structuring the sale; and
- impact on a physician’s estate planning.
